Creating virtual lessons for online learning can be challenging. Creating TPRS/CI virtual lessons can be even more exacting. This presentation will provide you with ideas and skills to create innovative, fun virtual lessons based on TPRS/CI. The lessons will be made using iMovie and a green screen app on the iPad.
TPRS/CI has changed the way I teach my students. After some initial hiccups getting started, I have successfully implemented many of the techniques in my classes. And then the pandemic began. Suddenly, I had to teach a foreign language to 4 to 7-year-olds in a virtual environment. I was determined to continue using the TPRS/CI methods that had proven so successful in my face-to-face teaching in the classroom. I also knew I wanted the lessons to be entertaining, just like the stories we created in the classroom. Using iMovie and a DoInk app for green screen, I started creating movies that the students could watch and interact with, similar to how they would in the classroom. This formula turned out to be a success. The students (and parents and siblings) were enthusiastic about the videos and eager to see what the next video would be. And they were learning Dutch while doing so!
This presentation takes place in “French room” on Wednesday July 29th at 20:00 Paris time (CEST). To access the room, please click here to consult the visual map (restricted to registered conference attendees).
