We all know that reading comprehensible texts in a low anxiety setting is a major component of language acquisition. But amassing comprehensible texts for our free reading classroom library is not enough. We must also be purposeful in ensuring our students have access to texts where they can see themselves reflected, and seen and enter worlds that may or may not match their own. How do we create an inclusive classroom library? This presentation will provide World Language teachers with essential questions and a tool to help them select diverse texts.
