Reading a book in a new language can give students a great sense of accomplishment. This discussion is about ways to select and use a book that is level-appropriate for your students in an online, book club format, through synchronous plus asynchronous meetings. The plan can be adapted to beginning levels or more advanced learners.
We’ll begin by talking about ways to choose a book and ways to plan and prepare for your students’ success. Then, we’ll discuss ideas for how to use synchronous class time (online or in a classroom) and how to use asynchronous time (what students do on their own).
